ReRun, who we call Regis at his foster home, is a super dog!! He is very athletic. The first thing he did at our house was jump in the swimming pool! I was so startled that I pulled him out quickly but he was swimming around and loved it. He loves to fetch balls. He must have had a home before with some training. He seems totally house trained - only two accidents the very first afternoon. He will sit for treats and seems to know shake and down, but will not always perform on command. I am sure his skills will sharpen quickly. He does well with our two dogs although they have not always been friendly with him. There was a scrap or two over a kong the first couple of days but the dogs seem to have worked everything out. ReRun/Regis is not aggressive and is very sweet. He loves stuffed toys, kongs, tennis balls. He likes to get on the big bed and roll around and cuddle but usually jumps down to sleep on the bathroom floor or to the side of the bed. He does not like to voluntarily go into a crate. I have put him in a crate when no one is here only until I am sure all the dogs are comfortable with each other. I really don't think he needs a crate. He does not chew things, etc. However, he will surf on counter tops, tabletops, etc. I think he is just curious about his new surroundings and will stop that soon. He will go into a crate on his own at night and take a nap, etc. Don't know about children but think he would do well. He does not mind when my other two dogs growl at him or get around his face to sniff or stare at him. All and all, ReRun/Regis is a great dog. His coat is beautiful. I included one pic that was pre-grooming to show how curly it is and how lovely it would be when well kept. ReRun/Regis still has to have heart worm treatment but will be ready to find his forever home after that. You will not want to miss out on the chance to make this wonderful dog a part of your family!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heart Worm is a disease so easily preventable by the regular administration of a simple preventative medication. The treatment for heart worms is performed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and involves the administration to the infected animal of a systemic poison to kill the adult worms and larvae. It is difficult for the animal, who must be kept quiet and unstimulated during the cycle of administration or risk death from either the drugs used in treatment or the clumping of the dead worms in their cardio-vascular system. Please keep your pets on heart worm preventative.
