While Preshush has a lot of good years left in her (Cockers have an average lifespan of 15 years), her adoption fee is reduced to $125 due to her age. Preshush is also part of our VIP Seniors for Seniors program. If you are over 62 Preshush's fee is reduced further to $75!

Hi – I’m Preshush and I can’t spell too good but fostermom says that’s OK because I’m a Good Girl (something about being housetrained, not barking, getting along with the other cocker spaniels in the house, not chewing…).  I used to have a family and I don’t really understand why I don’t but the folks at DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue are so nice and I like my new digs, but I’d like a furever home even better.  I’m getting over heartworm treatment and can bound into your home mid-March!

Hi – I’m Preshush’s fostermom and Preshush is a loving girl who deserves a family who loves her back.  Preshush is really the type of dog people write books about.  She is sweet and gentle, and has been known to sit by a person who’s fallen down until they get up or get help.  She’s good indoors but loooooves being outdoors where she can sniff the trails of squirrels and birds and rabbits, and chase them if she finds them.  She’ll also chase cats so it’s best she goes to a dogs-and-people only home. She would love a doggy door that allows her to go outside whenever she wants, and stay outside as long as she wants.  She likes being outside so much it takes a lot of coaxing and calling to get her indoors, but once inside she wants to snuggle with her people and sleep with you in the people bed.

You’d never guess Preshush is 10 years old.  She has the bounce and the spirit of a much younger dog, but the maturity of an adult.  She’s not into toys so much as snuggles.  And she’s so soft and velvety!

If you’re looking for a calm but spirited bundle of black velvet cocker, Preshush is your girl
