Hi everyone! My name is Margo and I would like to take a minute and introduce myself. I am a gorgeous chocolate brown cocker spaniel with beautifully silver "racing stripes" down my sides and chest. I am currently a little (okay, a lot) soft around the edges, but a lady doesn't really like to talk about her weight. My foster mom says I'm on her Doggies Biggest Loser program and am going to slim down before I know it. Before I came to CSR, I had really sore ears and itchy skin. My mom has put me on some really great healthy dog food and supplements and I'm already starting to feel much better. Who knew dogs could have salmon and sweet potatoes for dinner?!! My mom is getting my ears all cleaned up and the new food and supplements are really going to help my skin and shine up my coat. Unfortunately, my new weight loss program means no doggie cookies, so instead my treats consist of baby carrots. Can't a girl get a break around here? I'm a very loving and attentive companion. I really enjoy sitting by my mom's feet while she rubs my head and ears. I would really like to sit on the couch, but I can't quite jump up there yet! I eat and sleep in my crate at night. I really didn't enjoy that the first couple of nights, but now it is my favorite place to be in the evenings. I'm potty trained and very well behaved, so I get to stay out with my foster sisters during the day. Speaking of my foster sisters, I get a long great with them even when they try to boss me around. I just do whatever they tell me to and don't even make a fuss when the little one steals my bone or grabs a hold of my ear. Well, I guess that's about enough from me. Somewhere in this house, there is a toy waiting to be pounced on. I hope you'll come meet me at the next Meet and Greet! From Margo's foster mom: Margo has been a very easy foster to join our family. Yes, she does need some help in the nutrition and weight loss department, but we've got her on track now and I can already see the progress she is making. She would make the perfect companion for a family with older kids, a single person or just a couple that needs an extra friendly face. She has the perfect energy level for a cocker because she wants to get around and be active, but she'll calm down pretty quickly, too. Did I mention she's potty trained? That is always a welcome relief! I'm not sure what her former life was about, but she is a little shy around men when she first meets them. She's not aggressive at all and will warm up after a few minutes, but she is not immediately trusting. She hasn't quite figured out how to play fetch, but we are working on it, so she can get some exercise. She's a real sweetheart and I can't wait until she can meet her forever family! |
